About our Client

Fleetcor is a global provider of commercial payment solutions, serving businesses of all sizes. They offer specialised payment products and services for fuel, tolls, lodging, and other related expenses, helping customers simplify payment processes and control expenses. Fleetcor operates in North America, Latin America, Europe, and Asia and has approximately 8,500 employees worldwide.

Their Brief

Fleetcor has a strong commitment to the development and support of its employees, enabling them to progress to new roles. However, they had identified that new leaders were struggling to navigate the overwhelming number of policies and processes that they were required to know in order to manage effectively. In some cases, new leaders were unaware of their responsibilities, resulting in a longer time to get up to speed in their new roles. Our challenge was to design and develop a solution that would be both engaging and effective, while also being accessible and responsive on any device.

Our Role

We started by analysing their existing content and identified eight key areas of responsibility for a People Leader at Fleetcor, ranging from recruitment to health and wellness. In close collaboration with leaders in People and Capability, we aligned these key areas to the needs and current struggles of their managers. From this we created a toolkit of eight sections; each section included bitesize descriptions of policy content, just-in-time resources and links to development resources for further learning.

To raise awareness of their current capabilities we included self-reflection exercises, which gave learners a starting point for areas of development.

The toolkit was developed to be responsive and searchable, with an attractive design that used media to engage and inspire learners.

Their Results

Fleetcor now has People Leaders' Toolkit that:

  • Empowers new leaders in driving their own development
  • Shortens the learning curve for new leaders
  • Boosts leaders' confidence
  • Supports better leadership practice
