About our Client

More than two decades after opening its first store, Warehouse Stationery has revolutionised the stationery retail business in New Zealand, replacing the traditional supplier with a larger format stationery supermarket concept. Its customers can purchase stationery, office products, technology and furniture online, or all under one roof in 60+ locations throughout the country.

The Brief

With the goal of significant and lasting sales growth, Warehouse Stationery wanted to underpin their strategy with capability and learning solutions to support their future. To do this effectively, they required an L&D partner with the strategic skills and specialist knowledge who they could trust to deliver.

Our Role

Optimism has been working in partnership with Warehouse Stationery for almost 15 years, providing fresh thinking and integrated learning programmes that have been supported staff at all levels in the company.

Projects include:

  • Integrated Store Training Solution: Development of a complete integrated store training solution for team members, inclusive of handbooks, buddybooks, on job checks, online quizzes and tracking.
  • Workshops and Resources: Development of workshops and resources for both the store network and support office, covering a range of career phases, from induction through to leadership.
  • Capability Programmes: Development of transition and capability programmes for Assistant Store Managers and Store Managers.
  • Product Knowledge Framework: Ongoing fulfilment of a Product Knowledge framework for stores using blended learning solutions that include eLearning modules, job checks, online quizzes and manager involvement.
  • Learning Design: Providing learning design services for overload
